最近の入院

こんにちは。ネイトです。

最近首の手術をし、一週間入院しました。下記に入院中の感想を英語で書きました。看護師さんのケアーがあまりにも良くて、感動しました。感謝いっぱいです。良ければ読んでみてください。

I recently had surgery on my neck, and I must say… it was a great experience. No, I’m not talking about the surgery itself — I’m talking about the people who took care of me. I was so impressed by the nursing staff at the hospital.

Of course, they conducted themselves like competent medical professionals; but they did more than just carry out their duties. I felt they went above and beyond in their care for me. Everyone was empathetic and patient. Not once did they seem irritated when I made a request or had trouble with the language. Even though everyone was wearing masks, their eyes and voices always seemed to be smiling.

And there was never the hollow ring of ‘professional politeness.’ I felt every person I interacted with was genuinely warmhearted and compassionate. They never made me feel like I was just another face to be looked after in their ward. They made me feel at home, and their presence warmed the room every time they came to check on me.

It may be all in a day’s work for the nurses, but to me, this was a very moving experience that I won’t soon forget. I am so thankful to them for the care they gave me.

Nurses’ smile is the best medicine, right?
In spite of it that their works should be very heavy everyday especially in this pandemic, they never forget their smiles. They are real angels in white uniforms, I think.
